EDGEFIX is used to seal raw edges on chipboard. It is also used as a repairer to damaged edging. It is a putty like paste that can easily be applied with a spatula. No equipment is required. Once applied and smoothed, it sets firmly within approximately 30 minutes. EDGEFIX is water based. It is non-flammable and contains no toxic ingredients. After use, hands and tools can be cleaned simply by rinsing in water.
APPLICATION
Apply with a spatula and allow to firm.
Smooth with a damp sponge or cloth.
A lacquer or sealer should also be applied for total protection.
Being acid catalysed compatible, it is not necessary to wait for total curing before applying most top coatings or stains.
ADVANTAGE OVER CONVENTIONAL VENEER STRIPS
EDGEFIX forms a continuous seal between the top and the bottom laminates. This prevents any moisture penetration. Veneer edging invariably leaves a minute gap between surface laminate and the veneer edge. This gap allows moisture penetration into the chipboard. This degeneration is accelerated when the chipboard is used in bathrooms and kitchens. Popular use is also where conventional edging is impractical, e.g. shaped curves and with figure work. EDGEFIX offers significant cost savings when compared to traditional edging methods.
